May I NOT apply for EAD?

I file I-140 this August based on EB1(b) and it's still pending. Now I am going to file I-485 together with AP. I don't want to apply for EAD because I am working on H1b and I will not change employer in at least half a year. So, may I not file I-765?

It is NOT necessary for you to file for EAD unless otherwise you need it.

But what I didnt understand from your posting was - why do you then need AP if you dont need EAD???

MrCoolz, thanks for your reply. AP is for me to travel outside U.S.
I plan to visit my home country this winter and with AP, I can go back to U.S. without any risk of visa being denied.
