A friend of mine got his approval notice today..

RD - MAY 08 2003 ----thats correct 2003.
His 140 status still shows pending.

I also did not believe this but I saw the approval notice today morning...i can ask my friend if he is ready to post his EAC number

But believe me its true. We are also surprised.

Can you please let us know the details of your friends case. Is it a concurrently filed case? etc.
 
It looks like it is a mistake from INS to apporve his case with I-140 approval.

To be honest I will take this kind of surprizes any day.

His Case- :

FP done
EB3
Concurrently filed
Was waiting for 140 patiently when he got his 485 approval.
His EAC number was EAC0316453XXX

I cannot give his exact EAC number but its after 53400.

Some two years back one of my friend got his I-485 approved in three months from TSC, that poor guy was thinking of getting married before the approval but for everyones surprize he got it in three months. When I was talking with my lawyer about it, what he said is for training purposes they randomly pick some cases and work on them. Your friend was I think one of the lucky ones who got picked up, good for him. Ask him to buy lottary ticket or something he might even win it.
 
My friend applied for I-485 in Dec. 2002 and got RFE for Birth Certificate in Sep. 2003 and then got approved in Nov. 2003 and got the plastic cards in Dec. 2003.

He got three RFE's in I-140 stage and waited for his wife to come back from India before applying for his I-485.
His friends (colleagues) who all got their I-140 approval faster and applied for I-485 in Oct, Nov and Dec of 2001 are still waiting.

This is INS/BCIS/USCIS. Nothing can be changed.
 
Let me check what my staus is? My ND is 5/9/03.

Sorry guys.......... no luck. They forget to pick my file ........
 
What a lucky dawg your friend is ...

Ask him to go to Taj Mahal and use his luck... He would defintely win a million dollar jackpot ;)
 
7/10/03 approvals

I have seen at least 3-4 approved 485s from the EAC03207 series (I actually posted one complete notice # maybe last week?). I stumbled across these when I was running the 140 scan for that day last week. Obviously my ND is that day :D

Off course there's no way to tell whether or not these were EB cases. But even then, its's still remarkable.

My friend went to baltimore and got his passport stamped. No problems till now. And guess what....140 has still not come.

485 approved and I-140 pending.

what will happen when they find out his I-140 file and its says pending. are they going to change is 485 staus to pending again or they will say he need to go back on EAD :).

This trend is getting tougher day by day to solve..:)

I think tomorrow we will see some 2004 approvals also.
