I've filed my 485 on May 2002. Last week, My congressman told me my case is withinh an examiner being reviewd. Doers anybody have any idea how long it's going to take for an examiner to review and approve a case? And is the information from congressman trustbale?

No, I am not from SR country. Also how do I know if they send my case to FBI for name check?

On the basis of Notice Date and current processing time. You can try 1800 # but it is of no good for inquiry. You know that online status does not really reflect the real status, So what if your case is transfered/lost/lost in mail/etc..?. You must ACT now. I am not sure how reliable is congressman's reply.

When requesting for expedite and calling for 1-800# there are certain conditions required which are posted in this website. ND and Current Processing Time unfortunately is not one of them.

Special Registration Country (in late 2002 a law was passed, all male aliens between age ??-?? born in certain countries mostly muslim countries , were required to register themself every year. later after criticize by human rights it was publicly announced its end, and not required anymore).


But many ppl from SR country shared that they got and getting RFE in pending 765/485 regarding that SR-register law, and their case took either transfered to local office or took long to pass name check issue. noone know the exact story all we guess the reason.
