Maximum reach while wainting for NIW decision

Hey guys, I have a question that I am sure many of us share.

what happens if you reach the 6-year limit on your H1B while wainting to get a decision regarding the NIW?

Can the H1B be extended after the maximum of 6 years reched? Thanks

Yes if your I-140 is pending for more than 1 year.
