She never used to live here. Can anyone here tell me is there anything like the period that I have to spend in US on my b1/b2 before I apply for GC.which state is most preferable to apply,I use to live with my friend in MI (no lease on my name),
any sincere advice will be appreciated.

She can apply for your GC anytime but as you said she was never used to leave here, then how she will provide affidavite for you? She needs to show some income/assets to sponsor you. Since youare on B1/B2 visa, obiviously you don't have any income. You can find somebody to become a Co-Sponsor.

She must have a residency in the US or in a US territory to apply for you too. Is she working?
Good luck,

no she is not here. she is working back in india.can i still apply for AOS, or she need to be here at the time of application? How can i find a good lawyer, any website or any criteria to see before hiring a lawyer..I appreciate ur help.
