I am married to USC and currently reside in Dubai. I have been told that my financial situation is not sufficient for I-864 and i need another sponsor. I do not know any other USC or Perm resident residing in US to sponsor me.

Who else can sponsor me? Can my brother who is a doctor (in dubai) or father a small business man (in dubai) sponsor me? or do we have to find someone from US to do that?

Your help is appreciated.

it is not about YOUR financial situation... But your USC spouse.

Only USC or permanent residents living in the USA can sponsor you.

My USC spouse in dubai does not work, she stays home while i work at a local company. There has to be a way in such circumstances? Anyone? Thanks for your responses.

I believe you are allowed to use your assets instead of income. I think (read the 864 instructions) that you need assets equivalent to 5x the poverty level.

If you can get your father/brother to give you the appropriate amount, you might be able to qualify.

Another option is to find a US job that does H1 sponsorship. Most H1 jobs pay well over the minimum 864 amount, and once you start earning enough income you can apply for I-130/I-485 for a GC.

Ooh really can i show assets? Yes my gold and real estate assets are well over that and if that is possible, that would be very nice.

Read sections 28 and 29 of the I-864 instructions. You should be all set using your assets if they are at least 5x the required minimum.
