married for visa

i know,.. it was wrong, but the opportunity was there. so I married for a visa. it was a conditional visa, granted by marrying a US citizen and entering US with less than two years of marriage.

When I finally joined my husband in the US, things fell apart. after three months together, I left him with less than cordial relations. it was a bad break up. (may be a moot point but never consummated the marriage).

so I took the smart course of action and with the remaining validity of my green card, I took any and all jobs I could find and saved my money. also, I was able to get my registered nurse license.

but I got cold feet and I never did fight to remove the conditions of my visa on my own. so when the two years was up, I went back to my home country. also, I never applied for divorce, and to my knowledge, neither did my husband.

now, ive been thinking about applying as a nurse for employment in the US. I found an employer, and im now starting the process of applying for a visa. what are the chances that my previous marriage would factor into my work visa application? is there any way that I can take pro-active steps against it?

When you apply for the Work visa, you have to fill out the the option where it says- married/seperated , ect... what are you planning to write there? If you are seperated you should write seperated, and try to apply for divorce soon.if you have not applied for removal of C GC , i think it would have expired.
in your post you mentioned that you did a worng thing. you did not enter your marriage in good faith. you when you mentiuon that to the IF, it would be very difficult to guess what his reaction would be? Consult a good lawyer.
