This might sound like a odd question, but the instructions to the N-400 did not fully explain it.
Part 8 of the N-400 says "How many times have you been married?" I take it means both current and prior marriages?
Also to show proof of marriage for the three-year requirement I will be providing a copy of our marriage certificate and tax transcripts for 2009, 2010, and 2011. In each year we filled jointly. However, when I went to the IRS office to get the transcripts, I told the person there that I needed tax transcripts for 2009, 2010, and 2011 and was given printed pieces of papers with our tax return information. Is this acceptable or do I need to go back and request a particular type of tax information?
