Marriage questions/issues!!!

I got a couple of questions pertaining to marriage. I'm an asylee who's been waiting for his green card for some time now, and already got fingerprinted, but according to the USCIS website, the Lincoln Nebraska office's currently processing 1999 apps.
All this time I'm married to a wonderful american citizen, but because of pride I advised her not to file anything on my behalf.
I'm wondering if she shouldn't file for my papers based on the fact I'm married to an american citizen, or should I wait 'til my green card's approved?
I'd like to know if things would move faster if my wife applied for me, rather than me waiting forever for this green card?
secondly would her applying for me geopardize my chances of having this green card? can someone have more than one pending case?
My wife's tired of waiting for this green card as well...
What should we do?
Thirdly what exactly I'm I entitled to as the spouse of an american citizen?
Is it Citizenship? Permanent residency or some other status?
What would my wife be applying for on my behalf?
What are my rights?

--- You can file the papers, it won't hurt anything.

I'd like to know if things would move faster if my wife applied for me, rather than me waiting forever for this green card?

---If things go as planned, you can get the green card in 2 years.

secondly would her applying for me geopardize my chances of having this green card? can someone have more than one pending case?

---Why would you worry about the pending green card, as you can start the new one, and within 2 years, you will have a fresh one.

My wife's tired of waiting for this green card as well...What should we do?

---I will file another petition, marriage based green card.

Thirdly what exactly I'm I entitled to as the spouse of an american citizen?

---You are filing as the Premanent Residency Application. They will accumulate the time you got married. Once your get your green card, you don't have to wait for 5 years to file for the Citizenship. Lets say if you get married in Jan 03, then at Jan 08 will mark your 5 years of marriage, and you can file for Citizenship assuming that you have received the green card in lets say June 07.

What would my wife be applying for on my behalf?

---Please scan the thread of Family Based Petition for all the supporting documents and the forms that you need to mail into one of the Service Center.

What are my rights?

---Not sure what you mean by your rights??? I will consult with good attorney on this case. I think you should have one already since you filed for ASYLUM.

my advise, stop complaining and thinking. Go immediately to local USCIS office and get the paperwork to file for I-485 based on your marriage. Remember, you can have 2 I-485 applications pending at the same time. You will get you GC much faster plus you will make additional GC available to some of our fellow asylees. After you get your GC (temporary you will get very very soon), then you can cancel your other application. Also, after two years you will have to apply for the permanent GC and after 3 years your citizenship. Good luck and don’t think too much. There is no pride in helping your family get stabilized. Many of us would like to be in your shoes. Good luck
