I got married(Hindu marriage) and it was not registered. I am living with my child in this country. I have custody of my child from an Indian court. My spouse is not living in this country. I am planning on applying I485 for myself and my child. My attorney is telling that we can file I485 now without marriage certiicate and they may ask later. So it is adviceable to get that now since they will give only 45-90 days to produce the document. In my case I am not applying for permanent residency for my spouse. Any one had this kind of issue and how did you go around this. Any help is appreciated.
