Hi
A friend from Mexico, was married to an american citizen, they went to the first interview and he was granted conditional residence, after two years they applied to remove the conditional residence but they didn't hear back for a long time like a year or two and they stamped his passport to be able to leave the country since he never got the actual greencard.
They didn't live together after 3 years, but didn't get a divorce.
INS finally called and asked them both to show up with evidence that the marriage was bonafide, they didn't bring enough stuff since they hadn't live together, so the ins asked them to send more documentation by mail, they did and they didn't hear back for a year until now when they are calling them for another interview with more documentation.
He sent everything he had a year ago, he has no more documents.
They started the divorce process months ago, been married for 6 years but didnt live together for the last 3, she won't go to the interview since she's divorced and could care less.
What do you think his options are. I told him to go see a lawyer asap.

sounds like USCIS does not beleive it.
do you know if their marriage was in good faith?...
if it was...a good lawyer should go with him to the interview.
