I am posting this email for a buddy of mine, and will appreciate any insight/advice that you may have. I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong forum
. His email is below:
I got legally married in Dec-03 in India, and our indian wedding/ceremony is in in Dec-04. She is still in India. My green card was approved in March-04. I did not bother filing any additional paperwork to add my wifes application onto my green card application after we got married as I was planning to get a new job in London. I have since changed my mind and have decided to stay here in the States. I have some questions:
a) Is there anything I can do about it now, and should I seek help from an immigration lawyer to help guide me through the process, or can I do it all on my own?
b) what is the process in my situation ?
c) What forms do I have to fill in ?
d) How long would it take to be able to get her to come out here to the States?
e) Is there any paperwork that needs to be submitted in India?
f) I believe there is some kind of interview process - does anyone have any info about this ?
g) Do you think there are any issues around attempting to get her to come out to the States and live with me after we have our indian ceremony in Dec-04?
i) Whats the best way to approach this situation or should I just go get another job in the UK
