I need another help.
- What is a marriage certificate and where does one get this from?
I am from New Delhi.
- Also where does one apply for "Follow to Join in Petition" for spouse.
This is what I understood so far, if one gets married before the GC approval (485) then he can file "Follow to Join" in Petition (Consular Processing - if the spouse is in India) for spouse's GC, which takes about 6-8 months to get approved after which Spouse can come to US on his/her Green card.
Question is, how does INS know whether you were married before or after GC (485) approval, I mean is it the date on your marriage certificate or is there something else you gotto do.
