marriage certificate question?

when filing for my GC using forms I-130 & I-485 do i need to use the certified copy of my marriage certificate or can i use the signed and dated marriage license?

i would think you need to use the certificate but that takes 4-6 weeks to arrive in the mail after getting married. The waiting time seems to grow and grow before i can work.

I just got married last Friday and was able to go to the local Dept of Health (i think)... and go to the vital records dept, give them $10 and get a copy of my marriage cert. instead of waiting up to 120 days... Thought I'd have to wait maybe a week to get it when paying the $10 fee but got it right there and then. Might be different in other states.
