Hello,

Thanks to all who responded on previous question (Special thanks to Dr. Jha).

I have another question on the Marriage Certificate- what it is asking is a certified copy of your certified marriage certificate in English.

What I have is a Hindu Marriage Certificate Registered in India and is in English. What does a Certified copy mean? Will this be sufficient or I need something else to be done?

Regards
Love

Yes, sending a photocopy of that will be fine, as it is in English.

"Certified copy" is the technical term for marriage certificates you get in the USA. The original is held by the county clerk's office so you cannot get the original, so to prove the marriage is real you get a "certified copy", which is basically a copy of the original on special paper with a stamp on it to prove its real. USCIS requires a copy of this.
