Marriage certicates for my parents...from 1959 .Help.

Hello,
I am US Citizen, Planing to apply for GC's for my parents ( India based)./Vermont INS.

One of the requirements from my father is "a copy of the marriage certificate establishing that my father was married to my mother before I was born".

They were married in 1959 and don't have a marriage certificate, we have tried to get one but the local records do not exist.. Is there some format that would do to subsitute that ?..
My father does have old passports that date back before I was born, which have my mothers name in there also...

Any help, would be appreciated.

well ur name suggest tht u r an indian. well ur mom and dad can go to tthe court and get this certificate froma magistrate by jus showing some proof of marriage likea wedding picture. tht will do it i guess tell them to ask a lawyer in india.
