Marriage cert SNAFU makes entry impossible for wife

I married my wife in the phillippines almost 3 years ago, we have applied for her k-3 visa for her entry, it was denied because the date on our philippine marriage cert. is april 8, and my passport says I was back in the states by april 6.

The marriage is completly on the up and up. We were actually married on March 31 at 10:00am. The delay was due to me not knowing that I had to get a Affadavit of Legal Capacity from the US embassy before we got married. The judge who performed our ceremony told me that I could get the affadavit the next day and then give it to the judge and he would complete the certificate.

I obtained the affadavit the next day and turned it in to the judge. We then proceeded with the vacation/honeymoon. When I ended up leaving the philippines on april 6, I left without the certificate but with a promise from my family that they would send it as soon as they received it. When I finally got it the marriage date was april 8. When the time came for us to apply for the visa we were turned down due to the conflict in the dates.

Is there anything that can be done without me having to fly back to the philippines and remarry my wife? I just got a new job and cannot afford the time off.

The marriage certificate is obviously in error. Apparently they printed the issue date of the certificate instead of the actual date of the marriage. Get the authorities to make the correction and issue a new certificate with March 31.

Good point. This is what you need to do and ensure that you clearly explain to the US embassy that they printed the issue date rather than the marriage date. This is the most logical error (and explanation) that could happen. An adjoining letter from the agency issuing the certificate may also be a good idea along with the corrected marriage certificate.
