Marriage based Interview Experience - Santa Ana, CA

I just found this forum (June 2006). I thought to share my experience as well. Me and my wife (USC) went to Santa Ana (California) service center on May 2006. The interviewer started with being nice, then aggressive, and again nice by saying that our case was "approved" but pending background. She just asked for our joint stuff such as property documents, tax return, bank statements, phone bills, insurance, car registrations and so forth. We did not have all the documents but I think it was ok because she said the marriage is valid and we are "approved". My background check since I remember has been stuck in I guess Millwakee (?) center. One reason might be because I am Iranian. (Anyone has the same exeprience?)

I visited the center once again after a week through infopass and I asked them if they could give me a note that I have been "approved" but they are still waiting on my background check. The lady said that although I am "approved" but I am NOT "approved". That was to me an odd situation but I am trying to understand that half way condition!!!

So anyways I am waiting for the so called welcoming letter that I am more curious to see how it looks like ;)))

Thank you all for your helpful stroies and info.

Got married: May 2005
Sent Documents to AOS: July 2005
FP: September 2005
AOS Interview: May 2006 - No I551 stamp/Verbal approval/Pending check
Waiting ......

Congratulations and good luck with the name check. There are a couple of good threads in this forums on name check. I think you can find links in Ari4u's AOS Interview Timeline thread (one of the three sticky threads in this forum).
Hope you get your Welcome Letter soon! :)

Congrats! What were some of the more aggressive questions?
Do you remember your adjudicator number?

Like why me and my wife car registrations are seperate and not joint. The questions were ok but her tone was like she is suspicious and we even thought that she may not approve us. As long as you act normal I think it should be ok. I hope that helps. good luck with your interview :)
