I am a US citizen. My fiance is an Indian here on an H-1B visa that expires in October 2003. He has just submitted papers for the "second stage" of a GC in Florida, which is said to take 3-4 months to
complete. He would like to wait to get a GC on is own rather than applying for one through me, but we're concerned that the next GC stage won't come through before his visa expires. What is the latest we can wait to see whether his own GC comes through before getting married, without raising any eyebrows at INS for such a "last minute" wedding before the visa expires?
