Marriage and 1485

Can someone share their experince regarding marriage and its effect, if any, on the processing time.

I had applied last year (in sept 2001) got married this year and applied for my spouse in may 2002.

Will INS process our cases togeather or seperately? Hopefully this won't delay my processing.

Marriage and 485

My case is similar to yours. According to law, as long as the marriage date preceeds the date of approval, she is entitled to the benefit of your processing as your beneficiary. Meaning if your marriage date is after your approval then she has to file under family category.

Marriage wont affect your 485 processing at all. But, if the marriage is very recent, then they may ask you both to attend an interview at their Office, when they take up her case (not your case)

you absoultely have no problem. Yours will approved first, your wife's will be approved later, depending on her RD, which is not same in your case.
