marriage after political asylum.

Hello everyone. I applied for political asylum 2 years ago in CA, and after 1.5 I got married to us citizen and moved to OH. I transfered my political case here too.I send all my papers to open marriage case.I'm wondering how I can close my political case? Will any applications be denied in marriage case while my political case is still open?Will it affect my marriage status of getting papers etc. Help please....
 
Hi, my advice don't stop your political asylum, even if you are married with an us citizen it can affect your status. I got married while I was asylee and I continued with my process, if you close your case it can be terminated due to no fear of persecution. Good Luck
 
Thanks a lot. It's a good idea. But, won't my forms (130,485 etc) be denied due to opened political case??
 
I spoke to a friend of mine who was in a similar situation but he was never called for no hearing or any type of interview so his case was pending when he got married and he has his green card thru US Citizen Marriage and they still did not call him for asylum interview. He also had a lawyer...

You can have as many applications as you can,in your case it is advisable to request your asylum case to be canceled only after you obtain permanent residence through marriage with a US citizen.

As a token make sure that your marriage is on a solid rock otherwise you might regret why you did not pursue the asylum route.

All in all marriage is the shortest and surest way to go.

I have a AS06 GC and considering getting married to a US citizen.
