marriage after GC

Hi guys,

This is a personal question I am asking here. I am a GC holder
who is in love with a girl and wants to marry her. The problem
is that she doesn't have a US greencard/citizenship, she is
from Nepal. I met her when she was visiting her brother here
in the US. Well, I am trying to find out ways to bring her into
this country after marriage. Can you guys tell me about
possible options ? If anyone knows of some sites/discussion
forums talking about this topic in details, that will also do. A
friend of mine suggested me to try for K visa. Will it work ?

K category visa is only for a U.S. citizen to bring his/her foreign-born fiancé/e to the U.S. As a LPR, you will have to use V visa category in which you will have to fill I-130 (under Family 2A beneficiaries, if I am not mistaken). Not sure how long that takes but I heard probably 5-6 years. My 2 cents...
