Marriage after Chennai CP : Spouse asked to comeback again.

I married after my CP interview and approval and sent my Spouse\'s packet 3.

She got her IV interview on Dec 21st. She submitted three wedding pictures
for the interview. She was asked to bring more pictures, phone bills to prove I called her often, emails/letters we sent to each other.
I haven\'t heard about these requirements before. Why don\'t they just mention these items in the instruction sheet? She would have taken these items to the interview if she was told. She can go the consulate only on Dec 26ht because of the holidays.
This is causing lot of problems. I wish they would be more considerate to us.

Did u come back after the interview and getting married? And did they still accept her Packet3 when the date of marriage was after the CP Approval date? Thats kinda good information, please give us more details.

I live in NJ .. my wife is in wisconsin , because
she could not find a job here ..

I have all my phone bills for the past 7 months...
I also have 3 year old credit card vouchers. She was in ohio for her
masters .. and I can proove that Iwas in ohio every few weeks.

Also we went to the same college in bbay ..so i have a degree to show.

The reason i m so paranoid is that , we only had a civil wedding in new jersey.. so i dont have that many marriage pictures ..except for me the judge and her .

anyway .the onus is on us to proove that this is a real marriage.
 
Marriage certificate is not sufficient?

If the consulate is looking for the verification of the marriage, then is the marriage certificate is not sufficient and three wedding photos are more than sufficient to prove.

What will the consular understand from phone bills? How is the officer investigating the number called in India?

as I probably mentioned earlier ...my wife is in Wisconsin
and I m in NJ .. so I am concerned about this "marriage proof" requirement.
I do have a wedding cert from NJ .

wantAgc, I am in the same situation. My wife has an interview in Jan and I married before the interview in India.

Even I am little concerned about these new "proofs".

As long as you have a wedding certificate from a state authority, you should be a fine.
 
Eager to know docs reqd

I got my approval on 21st Dec. I guess I met the person in Question (TC\'s wife). I am keen on knowing more details on this.

I am also waiting for my spouse interview..

to be scheduled. I combined marriage with CP. Got married before the interview and submitted pkt 3 for spouse on Dec 21st, my interview date, and entered US on Dec 25th, POE is SFO. Waiting for chennai consulate to schedule the interview for my spouse. Pls let me know of any new requirements chennai is looking for in these kind of cases.

Spouse got immigrant visa!

My spouse went to the consulate on Dec 27 with eight more wedding
pictures (total 11) and my US phone records showing long calls made to
India almost every day to a cell-number in India. The receipts for the cell phone and service bought after the marriage under my name was also included. After submitting the documents the visa was approved without any interview.

My spouse and I entered POE Chicago on 1-Jan.

I am glad it is finally over.

I was not comfortable with the new \'requirements\' to prove my
marriage. I was lucky(!) to have made direct dialed calls to my wife
in India from my phone the first month after marriage. The phone bills had the number listed on them.
I used calling cards to make calls after the first month. I had my
wife take my credit card bills showing charges by the calling card
vendor and the home page print out of the calling card vendor.
I am not sure which document(s) convinced the Consulate to approve
the immigrant visa (8 more pictures / phone bill with direct dialed
calls / calling card credit card charges).

Guys:
I spoke to TC over phone and he said everything went on fine on 26th and the couple are back in the US.
More details awaited.
