Marriage after applying 485

Hi
   Do anyone have experience with the follwing situation or know about this
issue. I have applied for 485 and EAD/AP. I still have valid H1 in my passport till 07/2003 and work for the same company that i sponsored my GC.
I want to get married in comming months. Can i bring my wife on H4. Can i use my H1 for travel purposes.

from what i know even if u applied for EAD, as long as u do not use it to work for another company then your H1 status is till valid so you may suse your H1 Visa to travel and you may bring your future wife with an H4 Visa.
 
Want to apply for I485 but can not get married before July

I am engaged, but can not get married and bring my wife before July. I want to apply for AOS for myself to avoid further delays. Is it possible to apply AOS for her after she gets here? Will she be able to get H4 while my AOS is in progress?While AOS is pending can she travel to India?

Same problem here

Guys,

I have a similar position where I have applied for my 485 and got my EAD and AP also. My contract with my client ended on Dec 31st and my consulting company is keeping my H1 status active.

I am planning to go to India sometime in the next one month. If everything goes well, I would like to get married and get my wife on an H4. My lawyer said that once she enters here on a H4 and files her application (not sure of the I-number), she can leave the country and come back later. Meanwhile, I can stay here and continue the GC...

Hoping for better days ahead - things look so uncertain now...

You can get married before approval!

Hi,

One of my friends was in a similar situation. He got married after applying for the AOS. He is bringing her now sometime next month and would be filing for adjustment after her arrival. I was told that the rule is you have to get married before your approval. He even got his approval last week!
