March2002 experience

Hi, everyone,

I would like to share my experience with you and hope this help you.

My RFE was received by INS in March 04. Since then, I thought my case should be approved shortly or at least whithin a year. Until last month, I received nothing and the case status is still telling me that my RFE was received blah blah blah. Then I made a phone inquiry. Ten days later, received a letter saying that my case has been transferred to the local office on May. ( No any notice to me!!!) However, it shows in the letter that the address my case was transfered to was not correct. It is a federal building address. I thought it is a typo. Later, I found out that they actually sent it to the old local INS address( moved two years ago) which is the federal building. When I went to the local office and talked with somebody, I found out that my case was forwarded to Atlanta office(???). I guess it must be some federal building worker's work. I was in NM. They could forward it to the INS building several miles away if they know what they are doing. Cannot believe it. Now they are asking the Atlanta to transfer my case back. Hopefully, this time they do it right and quick. I was told to go back to the local office after a month to check my case status.

So, my friends, my experience is never trust them even on the easiest thing. Keep calling 800 number won't do much to you. Walking in the local INS office helps a lot, they can check on the system on much more details. Don't like me, lazy and trust them too much.....
Good luck
