You are right..lagging way behing the reality. I was like you until few months ago not keeping track of VB and not knowing what's happening around me. Not that, I could've changed my situation in anyway... but at least I would've prepared psycholgically than I otherwise would be.
Pls follow the news and check out these forums once a while.
