I was in same situation until last week ( RD: 03/27, ND:4/11). After many futile fax inquiries, my lawyer initiated inquiry through INS laison, I guess through AILA and within a week I received FP notice for me and my wife. I strongly advice you to push your lawyer to get in contact with INS laison to persue it. Also it does not hurt to send fax inquiries to INS yourself, just in case you are very lucky.
