hi.... first of all congratulations to all who had there interview in feb...and especially to dec 2010 ...although i was ahead of you...but got re scheduled....

second i have a question for the peers and moderators.. i did not disclose two speeding tickets and a expired registration .... back 11 years ago....but when to wake county court and got a white computer printout with digits and abbreviations.. but says i paid... and the court has stamped it.. will this be sufficient to show in interview.. as it is not on a letter head but just a record on a white paper...

march interviews can you post. questions asked in the interview... plus i have a question ..if the question is what does the constitution do... do i have to answer all three answers ..or just one eg..sets up the government.

Based on my experience, the white sheet is fine. I had the same thing from the court for a traffic violation, a white piece of paper with the details (no heading) and had the seal from the court. The IO did ask for it, took a close look at the details and the seal, and put it in my folder. Then moved on to 6 questions and finally gave me the approval.

So in your case, since you didn't disclose it (I had disclosed mine), don't bring it up. If asked, provide the court document with the seal / stamp.

Best of luck.

thankxx complexity for the info.... another question.. since i havent mentioned it in the form.. and he ask me for any violations.. i hand him the court paper... what should i say when he says... why have you not mentioned it in the application form....

any interviews this week...

Again, don't volunteer the information. If he/she probes you and asks you about traffic violations, mention that the tickets were less than $500 and you didn't think they needed to be mentioned. But you do have the court dispositions on the tickets if he needs to see them. Most likely, they will skim over this section and won't ask you anything. So don't provide more information than you have to. Answer only what is asked of you..... this has been the advise of almost all lawyers. The key is not to lie.... and based on what you are saying above, you won't be lying! :)

Hi Complexity, I have speeding ticket and parking ticket (speeding ticket $80 22 years ago and parking 4 years ago) do I mention them on the form. Thanks...

CJack - did you try to get documentation on the ticket? Do you have proof of paying the ticket? If not, I wouldn't bother. I know someone who received a few tickets about 17 years ago in Texas, but did not mention them on the form. He only mentioned the ones he got recently. When asked, he mentioned he received a ticket in Texas 17 years ago, but when he tried to get documentation from the courts, they mentioned that they do not have records that far back. The IO smiled, said he understood and moved on.

I believe that parking tickets are non moving violations and do not need to be mentioned on the N400.

Complexity, thanks for the reply. I did call and there is no record of it, but the lady told me that the ticket could have been given by highwy patrol. I was just coming to the city. I may not be able to get a record of it. If I do I will mention it, if not....Thanks.
