March-2002 RD Transferred to local office

Hi,

My wife and I have the March-2002 RD and April-2002 ND. We had two finger prints done and they issued a RFE for both of us on April, 19th. The RFE was for my Employment letter, W2 and I-94 and for my for her all pages of passport and both sides of I-94. We filed our I-485 from Connecticut and moved to New Jersey in July 2002. I sent two letters to the INS about our address change (per attorney's advice), sent AR-11 and also called the INS to update my address. They sent a confirmation of address change last Novermber, 2003.
I received an email from INS on June 16th that my wife's case is transferred to Hartford , CT local office. No information about my case till now. It still shows RFE received May 11, 2004.
I am not sure why they transferred my wife's case to local office and that too an office that I am not connected with any more. When I called Hartford office they said change your address personally. I went there yesterday personally with my wife and all I had to do was fill another AR-11 and drop it in the application drop box.
I am not sure what else to do. How do I ask Hartford center to transfer the case to Newark, NJ? How do I make sure that they know my address? Please help and advise! What am I to do now and what happened to my case and my daughter's case? There was no RFE for my daughter's case at all.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear, I can feel your frustration, these peoples are really crazy why they want to come personally to just filling and dropping a form which is already done.

Please post you other details like RD/ND/FP1 etc. so that others can give better ideas.

one question have changed job before 180 days? or just moved? this may be the reason why they transferred your wife case to local office. I believe your case may also get transfer. But I think not to worry majority of the people who's transferred got approved after interview.

Just curious if your on-line dates changed while you came to know about transfer. If yes, then the date change was only for primary applicant or for primary and dependent both?

The dates are as below:

RD: 3/18/2002
ND: 4/6/2002
FP1: 3/6/2002
FP2: 11/4/2003
3 EADs
RFE: 4/19/2004
RFE received: 5/11/2004.
Wife's case transferred; 6/15/2004.

What are online dates? Where do I look for them?

My wife's H4 was not extended by my previous company and as a result she fell out of status and we had applied on 245(i) for by paying $1000 fine since my labor was filed 12/20/2000. They asked for her I-94 (back and front) and passport (all pages). Now they have transferred the case. I understand that may be the reason. What would they ask at the interview?
First of all how do I get the file to be transferred to Newark office?

The last update date changed only for my wife's case and did not change for my case. Still shows 5/14/2004, the day they updated about my RFE
 
Primary case approved - Kid's case status not found

At last a word of solace! The USCIS approved my case on June 25 per Online status message and my daughter's case number says not found! Both cases have update data of June 25th.

RFE - 4/19/2004
Received response - 5/11/04
Spouse case transferred - 6/15/2004
Primary case approved 6/25/2004

Normally not found for kids means that it is approved, especially when the primary is approved. So, something positive for now.
