Hi,
My EAD expires end of March 2002. I am thinking of applying for EAD by end of Dec, if the message still says \'case not found\' -- you never know how long it will take to get an approval. At least if I apply before 90 days I will be less panic when the time runs out.
I have two questions:
1. My H1B is valid until end of 2002, however, last time I had applied for the EAD but have not used it. Is my H1 still valid or do I need to refile for EAD again?
2. My husband is on EAD in his current job. Does VSC have separate queue for renewals? I saw in EAD link that some people are waiting since Sept 2001 to get their EAD.
Are you people applying for the renewals or hoping to get the approval before that? Please share your experiences.

I applied for renewal...

My H1 expires in March and current EAD expires on April first week. I too am till now not using EAD but my spouse is...

I thought why problem later... and so applied for EAD (particularly as my spouse is depended on it).

Question on EAD renewal?

First I think you should apply for renewal and I have similar situation like yours...when do you think I should apply for renewal(my EAD expires on Mar.28,2002)?Should I apply for renewal through lawyer or by myself? If by myself, what type of documents we need to submit? Thanks...

My lawyer is sending me a fat bill already for the renewal -- so I decided to do it by myself. All the documentation is on the Internet. You can get it from www.immihelp.com, or this site too -- there are fillable 765 form --
For my husband\'s case we have:
Form 765,
Copy of old EAD,
Top portion of previously approval EAD letter
2 photos
Signature card (optional)
Copy of I94 -- showing port entry(?) from passport pages
I think that is it. I have not yet sent it but will do so soon.
The EAD should be filed 90 days prior to expiration. In that case if we do not receive the new EAD -- it is automatically extended to 240 days (source: immihelp.com and insdoj.gov sites)
