Is the mandatory name check process in Delhi (for CP) implemented for the entire consulates in India henceforth? (heard something like this in the Delhi thread)
That’s scary for people like me who might not have enough leaves.

Rjain2 has posted that currently he is held up at Delhi because of name check.

We know that name checks have been going on for some time now at all
consulates, but assuming that this was random and only happens where
the names are very common and likely to get hits.

But seeing more and more such cases it lends strength to the suspicion that
they have increased the scope for these checks.

So, this is a real concern for people with tight schedules.

Maybe Rjain2 can confirm whether his was a regular NVC case or an AC 140?
and also whether their names are very common.

could one travel back to US on exisiting H1B while awaiting the result of clearance

Dear Gurus,

I have a quick question. Although I am from Pakistan, I think this information will help me as well. while one is awaiting the security clearance/name check can one travel back to US on exsiting valid H1B visa and resume work? Once the process is complete the person can return to complete the process.

Also how long is it taking for the embassy to process the name check? Do you know anyone, who has been through this process and how long it took him to do this?

Warm regards to all.

confused cp:

On an average, it an take as less as 2 weeks and upto 8 weeks to get name check clearance. In extremely exceptional cases, it has takena bout 6 months but very rare.

Hi,

My CP intention was indicated in the I-140, so it was a regualr CP case. The officer told me that they are doing name checks for all NIV applicants coming to India for IV interviews. Based on postings in Delhi CP thread for the 1st two weeks of July, we see that 2 of us had name checks and 2 didn't so the confusion continues! Besides commonness of names, there must be some other criterion of deciding who should get the privelege of name check!!

name check FBI

Friends
I was being contacted by FBI Name check dept after 99 days on Thursday (July8th) and she informed not only me but also my employer that my "name check" process has been completed. Even though I have no arrest or any minor crimial record in my whole life it took 3(1/2) months for them to clear me. But now after she informed me this and passed me the state dept hot line no, I contacted them and they told me they have not recieved any clearance.

She informed on Thursday and asked me and my employer to expect to hear anything by Monday. I called thursday, then friday and then just now and they havenot receved any clearance yet. I tried to contact Diane in FBI and her phone is going to voice message. I am so confused whats going on. If FBI has done my name check then y state dept havenot recieved any clearnce for me? If u have any idea I would appreciate if u can please help me coz i m stucked in Canada-Ottawa and after hearing this great news i am still in limbo.
