Mandamus

My Green Card approval is pending due to the name check. It is now almost 2 years. I have not followed up with congressman/FBI - But I am thinking of going straight with a Mandamus.

Is there a chance that a mandamus in my case fails as I have not contacted FBI/Congressman ?

I live in Boston. Does anyone know of any attorney who does Mandamus ?

Background:
I have been in US since 2000 with H1B. Met my husband who had a pending GC. He added me to his GC application in April 2004. His GC was approved in Jan05.

The filing of Writ of Mandamus specifically requires the Plaintiff to exhaust all the administrative remedies before s/he goes to court. In other words, when everything else failed, you can file for a Writ of Mandamus.
Not showing that you've tried anything else before starting the litigation makes your case very weak and chances are the Judge may dismiss it.
