I need some information if anybody can help me.

What happens when your HIV test is neither positive nor negative but indeterminate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Repeat the test again.... (But I will begin to worry the test result rather than the GC)

HIV is more complicated than syphilis

They must do following:

1. If HIV reaction is negative - Stop and conclude that you are HIV negative - 90-95% is right and STOP.
2. If HIV reaction is positive - They must do the second test and if it is negative, conclude that you are HIV negative and STOP

3. If you are HIV positive after 2 tests they must do WESTERN BLOT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_blot
3.1. if your test is negative - the conclusion is you are negative and STOP
3.2. if your test is positive - the conclusion is you are positive and STOP - 100% is right

Western Blot is more complicated and expensive, it idetifies Anti-Body more corectly, they will not do it if one of your two tests showed negative result.

First of all, chill. The initial tests are notoriously inaccurate. There is a finite possibility of you being healthy, even if it were positive, let alone indeterminate!

No need to worry till you get western blot and that turns out to be positive.

If that happens, make sure you get support and orientation, the doctors must be able to provide referral to a consular. Even though there's no cure, you can live a lot better life now a days than once possible. Proper counseling is the key. Don't go alone on this.

You probably will be fine when the final result comes in. It obviously will delay you filing, but you still may be able to get the final report before July 31st and get your I-485 in. Good Luck!

Do not Panic!

Gravitation is right in that the first test could be notoriously false. In fact, there is some opinion in "some" scientific community that a false positive can happen very easily, and can be caused by many many factors. These could range from a common cold at the time of test, to a flu, or a flu vaccine or other unrelated health condition that could raise the level of antibodies in the body, which could in turn influence the hiv test.

Indeterminate results can also happen because of some antibodies to some other condition (not hiv) reacting to the tests and is usually not a huge concern.

Worst case scenario, if you repeatedly test positive, take it easy, and take charge of your health. I have a friend who is in the medical profession and I can get you some answers if you wish.

Good luck!!!

I see you just have one post in this forum. Doesn't seem like you have been f... by USCIS too much. As you can see they have f... several people over a number of years.
In case u did not do anything stupid on your end, you should be fine.
