Dear friends:
I know that if a Permanent Resident is abroad for an extended period of time (e.g. returning once every 6 months), it is advised that they file US taxes (although this is by no means a gurantee that the permanent residence will be retained and unharmed).
Can you please advise me how to go about filing US taxes while I am abroad?
Is there a special form for such tax filing? If so, do you know the form number?
Do I need to be in the US when I file, or can my tax advisor file on my behalf while I am abroad?
Is money I earn abroad to be presented on the form?
Any recipes for this situation would be appreciated.
Thanks
