I just mailed a letter to USCIS this afternoon inquiring about my GC. I attached a copy of the approval letter along with the bio notice stating my bio (code 2 photo/ index print & electronic signature for GC production) was completed back in July 09,2005.
In my letter I stated that I was approved (I-485) back in Feb 09,2006 but now it's month an half but yet no sign of Welcome Notice nor plastic.

I even called last Friday & talked to a customer service rep & explained him details & he said he is going to forward that to NSC ( Nebraska Service Center) who processed my file.
But I belive it's always a good idea if things are done in writing instead of verbal conversations. So didn't wait but write NSC about the GC delay issue.
I don't think that's going to create any negative impact on my case besides the case is an approved case already. Most forum members that are receiving approval letters receiving their plastic within a week or two but mine is month & half but yet no plastic nor any Welcome Notice !!!!!
I don't think USCIS is going to reply me with their response but atleast they will remember me for a moment & if I'm lucky IO who approved my file would wake up from sleep & complete the rest part of the job which is ordering the plastic for me.
Need all your prayer my asylee brothers & sisters.

Good Job. Thats the way to do it, be after it. Have you thought about getting a temp card? If you don't have to trouble, I wouldn't worry about a temp card.

I think you will get your gc within few weeks. I got my GC before my approval letter so everything works in a wierd way at USCIS. I wanted the approval letter too and bothered the heck out of them and they sent me over 15 letters at one time..so go figure!!

Maybe they will send you 10-15 GC's at the same time.all with different resident since date....:)

Want, thanks for your reply. No, I don't have any travel plans at this time so temp card is not needed than again did you see Nasrmobin tried that before leaving to Thailand but not successful? I don't have no idea why the immigration office he been refused to do so.
Want, as a PR is it my right to get that or still in that previlage thing going on? Like if the IO in the local office in good mood I'll get it or he/she had a fight with the spouse at home than I'm simply toast & who knows my approval could be even taken away just because IO is in bad mood?
Another member Clotty was saying it's my right as a PR but I need to clarify that from you. Also approval letter means I'm a PR regardless I got my GC in hand or not ??? Is that true?

I have to say I did not read in depth about this issue , so I go with basic knowledge on it. And by that basic knowledge if another PR is allowed to get a green card stamp and you don't get one because the IO woke up on the wrong side of the bed, then you have every RIGHT to take it up with INS about it. To my knowledge if you are approved and have a valid NP, from what I know (anyone please correct me if there are exceptions to the rule because I have not read in depth about this so maybe there are exceptions I am not aware of; but IO being in a bad mood does not count as one) you can get that stamp.....It is like those who try to get a DL that we read about in other threads but are refused one because some DMV workers are not properly clued in about the asylee status and what it entails. They had a right to get that DL but because of some incompetent worker they were refused.

From my experience, mails are not very useful. I was approved back to spet 2005, but no GC. I have sent NSC several inquiring letters and called USCIS more than ten times. No result at all.

I got my GC recently only after sent my I-90 for never receiving card.

Good luck for you.

Asluser, Thanks for your response but I cant send I-90 before 90 days are over ( as the approval mail mentions). But that's certainly a good idea. You know I kind'a have the same feelings while mailing the inquiry letter to USCIS but just took a shot. USCIS don't really care about our mails who knows they probably didn't even bother to open the mail but trashed it right away.
I'll wait for that 90 days thing & if plastic don't come handy I must file that I-90 as you did.
Also I notified my Senator regarding this issue & his office already made an inquiry on my behalf & waiting to hear from USCIS. I bet they could surely ignore us immigrants but can not a US Senator. Hoping for the best.

Chill out Atique

Hi Atique,

My wife got approved at the end of last year and my two kids got approved in 02/06 but no green card until today. We were concerned and were contemplating about writing a letter or sending I-90. We called USCIS several times. Weird enough, one written response (to the phone calles) we received stated that my wife's green card has been mailed several weeks ago. Today, the three cards arrived safely with my wife's stating "resindent since 11/04" and my kids "resident since 01/05.

So chill out...you will receive your card soon; the most important thing is the approval letter.

I got approved last week and my approval letter says if I do not get my green card within a year, I should contact the USCIS. Legally speaking, you can't do much about it for a year! But, as long as you're approved, you should be fine.

Gino, mine don't say a year but 90 days & trust me I can do something about it. If Senator don't work my next plan is writing a letter to our President George Bush. I was approved asylum & finally got I-485 approved & none of this was so easy to let go. I would be scared if my asylum claim was fradulatent but since it's not might as well I'll keep trying every possible way to earn it. Once again it wasn't a gift rather I earned it so I must work hard to get this fixed regardless what it costs me. Thanks again for your response.
