Hey Guys,
Iam back after a short break & more tensed moments in my life.
Good to see 485 Approvals...
Here ... My EAD Renewal BIG Story :
==========================
*First EAD was expiring on Feb 1, 2003.
*Filed EAD Renewal (myself & wife) on November, 2002.
RD - Nov 12, 2002 (for both of us)
ND - Nov 19, 2002 (for both of us)
RFE - Dec 31, 2002 (for both of us) - RFE for Photos.
*Before lawyer got the RFE notices, we sent the photos to lawyer
(to avoid further delay..assuming RFE might be for photos..).
*Lawyer got the RFE notices on Jan 10th, 2003 & he responded
for that the same day.
*INS received our response on Jan 17th, 2003.
*As I was working on EAD. Expiry date was approaching it was a
very tense moment. We went to local INS office for Interim EAD
On Jan 25,2003, but they said no...since we got RFE..we have to
wait for 60 more days. Came back home very sadly.
*Another big blow was my case status was then showing .."We
received your response on Jan 17th,2003..." but my wife case
shows as "On December 31, 2002 we requested additional
evidence......."..which made us worry more. I then checked our
RFE Letter & what I found was amazing. In the RFE letter, on
the right side there will be a barcode indicating your EAC #.
Mine had the right number but in my wife's case, the barcode
had an different EAC # but the one in the left top (printed) had
the right EAC #. So, then what I assumed was, when INS
receives the response they just scan the barcode to read the
EAC # which updated the case status. So I called INS, Vermont
on Jan 24th & spoke to a nice IIO to correct this problem. She
said that will be taken care. But nothing happened the whole
week.
*Yesterday I checked my case online & found my case got
approved on Feb 4,2003 & they have ordered a new card but
my wife's case still remains with the same status. But atleast
now Iam little happy.
Any body with similar experiences????
So guys...my three suggestions...
1) pls file EAD renewal atleast 6 months before expiry (there is no harm at all) to avoid complications like this.
2) Select a good photo studio to get the right picture. Don't go for Buy 1 Get 1 FREE kind of thing.
3) When u get a RFE letter..please make sure the barcode number represents your right EAC #
Waiting for GC Approval eagerly....
