As I was trying to figure out why the receipt notices of my recently filed I-485 for me (primary applicant) and my wife (derivative applicant) had the same wordings ( Direct beneficary of the immigrant petition), I found out that while filling my wife's I-485 form, in part 2 Application type - I am applying for an adjustment to permanent resident status because :, I mistakingly checked the box A ( an immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has been approved instead of Box B - My spouse or parent applied for adjustment of status or was granted lawful ermanent residence in an immigrant visa category that allows derivative status for spouses and children.
I guess at the time of data entry the officer just checked the first page of the application and asssumed it to be for a primary applicant and the wordings.
Guys can this mistake be corrected ? Has anyone ever made such a mistake earlier and managed to get it corrected in time or I am the first unlucky one?
