Hello Guys:
I have a quick question. I'm going to Germany in September flying with Lufthansa. Does anybody knows how knowlegeble are they with the rule that RTD holders don't need a visa to Germany? Will they give me any trouble boarding the plane? thank you all

Lot of these airlines dont know. No one can gurantee you if the airline rep knows about it. What you can do is, print out the german embassy webpage where it says no visa is needed for refugee travel document holders. Go to the page below and do a find on "refugee travel document"

If the airline tells you that "they dont believe anything from a website", let them know that this is german embassy website. Once that happened to me because certain airline rep wouldn't let me board and said "websites can write anything" but I had them call the German embassy and luckily someone answered.

Thankyou for the info. Hopefully I will get a gate agent that knows the rules. Will bring a print out of the consulate page also...

I know that RTD does not require visa for Germany but RP does.I went there about 10 years ago and visa was no problemo. I don't think that that rule has been changed.
Airline should know about it but just to be in safe side check with german embassy in your area.

I know we don't need a visa with RTD. My concern is how up to date is the Lufthansa personel about that rule and if anybody in the forum has had any experience flying with Lufthansa to Germany....
