LUD'ed today 6/29/06

Hello all,
Both my wife and my 485 applications have been LUD'ed today- the verbiage remains the same though. I wonder if this is beacause of the congressional investigation that I initiated on 6/9/06 or what?

In the meanwhile, I continue to send FBI emails on name check status once a week. I have not gotten a response yet. My conversation with TSC few days ago indicated that I was stuck in name check (Everything was a go last August).

Let's see what happens. I will keep you guys informed.

LUD means Last Updated Date. This information is available on your USCIS portfolio when you access it from thier website http://www.uscis.gov. An LUD is activated whenever someone at USCIS touches or access your file. A typical case gets an LUD several times before an approval.

Should one wait before contact Congressman/Senator

Hi KJ,

I noticed that you applied in '04 and waited till now, to initiate the FBI Name Check status through Congressman?

Is it safer to wait an year before initiating enquiries through Congressman/Senator? Are there are any drawbacks?

The only reason I waited was because TSC until now had told me that my name check was cleared. They recently started saying that it wasn't. If you know for a fact that your name check has not cleared, I would start the process sooner rather than later.

A good sign to your case, but I think it was because of the congressional inquiry.

Did you send your email to FBI by your work email or hotmail email ?

I think you are right. I got a letter in the mail from my congressman today stating that my letter to the congressman was forwarded to the USCIS on the 21st. I think the LUD on the 29th was triggered by that. I hope something comes out of this.

I have emailed FBI from both my hotmail and work email accounts. I have been using the work email more lately. Is there a peferred way to do this?
