LUD question

Sorry if this question sounds stupid but I've had an LUD on USCIS system but didn't receive an e-mail although the e-mail option was on. Now is there any way for me to know what could be in that e-mail that I never received?
 
I don't think they send out an e-mail everytime a case is updated. It's only when they take definitive action, such as adjudication of a case, issuance of an RFE, when a card/other document has been sent for production or mailed to the applicant that they send out e-mails.
