hi all

today it is four weeks after FP2 both for me and my wife. Still no approval news, but remarkably, both her case and mine were updated (just the LUDs) 2 days in a row, the day before yesterday and also yesterday. Has anyone seen this happen ? Does it mean anything ?

Many thanks for any opinions and pointers !

Cheers,

What does the thing say online now?

Thanks for the follow up. I just received an email and there was a change on the online message. Here is a summary of the series of events:

Oct 20: my LUD changes, my wife's too - No email or online message
Oct 21: my LUD changes again, my wife's too - No email or online message
Oct 22: my LUD changes one more time, and I get this message (both online and via email)

On October 20, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This is in response to my case inquiry (I did it on the phone a week or so ago). Do you (or someone else) have any feeling of what's going on ?

The case looks like "ready to be approved". We did FP2 a month ago, FBI returned them the same day, I-140 approved in July, and the I-485s were submitted on September 2002, almost a year behind the current processing time right now.

Many many thanks,

new LUD !

And today the LUD was updated again ! Just for my case. No online status change, other than that. The message is the same. Oh well ...

I think your case will be approved soon, or you may receive a notice requesting some documents for additional evidence, because online message says "On October 20, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case..." Anyway your case is on the way of approval.

Thanks for the insight Chankuk ! Let's hope it is the former, and I finally get done with it ;)

Yeah I would guess that his assertion is probably right on track :)

The thing is, when they send you an RFE the online message is different AFAIK. It is something like "... we sent you a request for further evidence ...", some like this right ? Another guy in a different forum said that his friend got a message like mine, and then a letter saying essentially "we are working on your case" .... let's see what happens in my case !

Good Luck.

Thanks Compguy !

About your signature. Yes, I think people call cases like yours semi-concurrent. AFAIK, there is no practical difference between being semi- or full-concurrent, in terms of how soon to expect your approval (especially in a case like yours with so little difference between I-140 and I-485 petitions)

Cheers,

If this is of any relevance, this morning my wife's 140 had the same message as yours "responding to your request". We've made NO request at all. The only thing we've done is a few days ago my wife called them to update the address for the 140, but when I've done that before for my 485 there was nothing mentioned online. She didn't ask for any info for the 140 at all. So, either the address change made this happen, or it's just a silly RFE message.

same

we got the same message "we responded to your request" as LUD when we changed address- I think they stick it on many panding cases now to make us think they are doing something- my message has been like that since August 25th

my message changed today..that means!!?

hey we went FP on last sat day..today just now i got mail from USICS like this..."On October 27, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made."

so can we think ..something!!??

Thank you Jacquelina !

This goes along with what my lawyer said when I told him that I was going to initiate a case inquiry. He laughed, "go ahead, do it, but usually they don't do anything with these inquiries"

Oh well ...

Yep, it means thay they got the FP report back from the FBI to your processing center. It is in fact good news :)

LUD changed on two consecutive days but no message change

mendi.. did you get any further response. LUD changed on Oct 27 and Oct 28 for self and wife. We had our FP on Oct 8. My wife is already in India while I am leaving for India today. Is there any reason to be concerned.

Hi Winny

No, nothing on the mail, no further news. My LUD changed like 4 consecutive days, and the online message cheanged as I said above, but I didn't receive anything. If you have AP, I would just travel, I don't think there is a reason for concern. Look, what could happen at this time ? THey don't deny I-485 petitions AFAIK, they might send an RFE or something. But no big deal, even if it get to your home while you are in India, you can answer it when you are back right ? Of course, a lawyer's opinion is always best in these situations. I am just brainstorming ...

And let me add, LUD change is generally a good indication that at least they are looking at your case. The only problem with USCIS is that our cases remain 95% of the time or more sitting on a shelf, waiting for someone to look at them

Enjoy the trip, and best luck to you too!

Hi Mendieta,

I have posted in 485 thread regading the LUD change of my 1FP. I still haven't seen any LUD change since the 485 ND on 15sep'03 even I did 1FP on 16oct'04. Is there anyone who gets 485 approval without LUD change or receiving update message?

Thanks for comments
