As you may know i was approved on the 11th of may.
I checked my status online and it still remains at 3/14/06, telling me about the transferral of the case.
I am curious as to if you get an update online and the general timeline.
Not really concerned since they stamped my passport but it would be nice to know.
Also do you get an approval notice in the mail before the card comes, i did with the EAD i recently got? (they took that one, 180 bucks for 1 months work  )

Oh and two more questions, The SSN card, can i get the not valid for work without dhs authorization notice taken off?
Second My drivers licence is only valid for 7 months can i get that updated to three years or should i just wait until it is about the expire and do it then, not an issue but worth an ask.
Oh one more how good is the stamp as evidence of LPR, people take it seriously?

And USCIS is underfunded  :D :D

You go to SS Admin. office and apply for a new one...you'll get a new card, the "clear" one, with only your name and the (same) SS#.

It's your call, you can have it changed now or at the expiration time...if I were you I'll wait for the expiration.

Back in 1999 when I got my GC I went to my old country and the custom people there didn't want to accept the stamp in my passport as a proof of being an US PR...lucky me I had the plastic GC in my wallet too.
US authorities, I believe, take it seriously.

Is the stamp evidence enough for the "clear" social security card? i know you said american authorities take it serious but wanted to double check.

I believe yes and I don't see why it shouldn't be...but I don't know for sure.

Why don't you call SS Admin. and ask...to save yourself a trip to their office.

nah we gotta go down anyway for a seperate thing and it's only a few blocks away, may as well ask while we are there just was curious don't want to be there longer than i have to if you get my drift (nightmare).
I read they stopped stamping because of forgery so i thought that might be an issue and i was honestly surprised when he stamped my passport.
I am glad i got it, just not sure how to proceed now i have it.
I for sure want to go to college to do forensics and now i can get financial aid and am not worried about deportation (as much, what a load off!!) :D
If i can get a good full time job with tuition reimbursment i have it made (night classes though :( )
