Could anyone answer my question:
I am a LPR (through marriage to an American). I've been offered a temp contract job in Canada for 1.5 years (I'm Canadian, so no prob to work there). I'd need to rent a place in Canada and with that would be deemed a Cdn resident. But we plan to keep our house and my husband would stay on in the US. I would travel back to the US on weekends, staying in Canada only M-F. I'd pay US and Cdn taxes.
Would this be considered abandoning my US Permanent Residency? Or is it ok to do since I am keeping my house/home in the US, my husband is in the US and I would be coming back to the US on a regular basis and the job in Canada is only a 1.5 year contract?
