LPR Spouse, Kid returning after 6 months

Hello,

I, my wife and my kid are green card holders. We made the first trip to the US as immigrants in september,2008. However as I did not have a job, we decided that my wife and kid (who was 4 months old at that time) would return back to India.

I am now employed in the US for the past 3 months and they're now planning to enter the US after a gap of close to 11 months. How important is the '6 month away from the US' rule? Would my family be ok if they showed proof of my residence and employment in the US?

cross your finger and just hope for the best at this point. Hopefully they will be fine
 
based on what you said, you should be fine as it is less than 12 mths. Don't worry about this as there are other more important crap to worry about :)
 
The fact that you, her spouse, stayed in the US while she was out will help her if she gets a hostile IO who gives her a hard time. Have her bring proof of being married to you and that you are working in the US, in case she needs to show proof.
