Lost Rfe

Hello Everyone,
THis is my first post here in the forum. I have a problem which i don't know what to do.
I am a US citizen and filed I-485 for my husband in June 2005. We received 2 letters after that to get him fingerprinted for EAD and biometrics. We he has gotten done. Between these 2 letter, I received a letter with box checked, asking for I-864(Affadavit of Support). I was perplexed since I had sent in the form. After checking my copies I realized by mistake I had filled out I-134(Affadavit of SUpport). Well, I gathered all the info, filled out I-864 and guess what??. During this whole thing I lost the letter(RFE??) which explained to what address I had to send in the form.
I tried calling the National Support Ctr. but to no avail, they are not helpful at all, don't know where I should contact, or what to do.
I live in NJ and had sent in the orig. paperwork to Chicago lockbox. I distinctly remember though, that the this letter was asking the addn'l info to be sent at another location, not Chicago, and definitely not NJ.
I have gotten an infopass appt. here in Newark, NJ this month hoping that I can hand them the forms but meanwhile can someone help me out with the address or any other info.
I am fast approaching the 87 days limit to submit the info without which my case will be considered abandoned and closed.
Please help!!
thanks

Mona

Hello, Mona,

I think you looking for this:

USCIS-NBC
PO Box 648005
Lee’s Summit, MO 64064

Mark your envelope "ATTN: RFE “
and include the following:
• Completed and signed I-864
• Your current name and address, and, if different, your name as it appears on your application;
• Any A-number, which is an 8 or 9 digit number following the letter "A", assigned to you or to your application
• Your date of birth;
• The date and place where your application was filed;
• Any receipt number from any receipt notice issued by USCIS for your application;
• A copy of the most recent notice sent to you by USCIS on your case, if you have received one.

You are supposed to attach that origianl RFE letter to your responce. It's barcoded etc. Now what happens with out it I don't know. Anyone?

Thanks Jane, you are a life saver. At least I have a place to send the paperwork to.
I hope they recognize it by receipt and applicant #, since I don't have the orig. letter. Did anyone else come across something like this here??

thanks

You are welcome, Monas!
I had to respond to a RFE once too.
And like “grungy” said, I replied with the original RFE attached to the top of my response. I got an e-mail conformation and LUD change day after it was delivered to INS office.
Since you lost your RFE, then you just have no other choice as to proceed without it, plus some additional steps to ensure your response won’t get disregarded.
Remember that not having original RFE letter will create a bigger problem not for you, but for a person, who opens your envelope with a reply letter.
To make things easier, do not forget to mark both: your letter and the envelope with “Attention: Request for Further Evidence” so it goes to the right person in a first place.
Write them a letter, tell them what the original RFE was about and include as much helpful information as possible (your A#, place and date of birth and copy of the I-485 receipt), plus your I-864.
And, I would suggest, you send your letter via certify mail, with the return receipt. This way you’ll have a physical delivery conformation for your records.
Good luck!
