Lost Passports - I485 pending no FP yet - Please help!

Passports for my wife and myself are missing when I sent for H1 Visa renewal to state Dept using FedEx. All the searches are futile at this stage. Application for duplicate passports is already in place with Indian consulate (will take atleast 3 months).
even if get the duplicate passport, since my expired I94 cards and old visas are in the passport, what are the implications of it? How is going to affect my I485 process? Please post if some one has any information in this regard. Thanks all.

Did you make a photcopy of your passport at any stage? If you have that it might be enough.

Yes, I have a complete copy of the passport. But the original expired I94 is with lost passport, Any problems during FP or stamping?? Thanks for the response.

You probably have to get a replacement I-94. However, this may be depend on your current visa situation
 whether you are on H1B currently or on EAD. If on EAD, I\'m not sure what the procedure is. Talk to your lawyer.
