Lost passport

Hi,All;

one of my friend had lost the passport and just found out,she had interview at next week,its too late for her to do anything right now,whats going to happen if she doesnt has passport with her?

Was anybody has the same experience?

Not sure what to say....I am not 100% positive if the passport is a firm requirement. I suggest you call USCIS 1-800 number and ask the question.

It shouldn't matter, as long as your friend was truthful and accurate about her trips on the N-400 form. Passport is reinforcement for the application, but many people have been in the same situation of losing a passport and have had successful interviews. She should probably contact her embassy to declare the passport lost.

make sure she files a lost passport/ID report with the local police and ensure she carriers a copy of the report. some states/counties allow online filing so she can do that and make a copy.
