Lost Passport and I-797 in India

HI all,

A friend of mine is visiting India and lost his passport and I-797 there. Could anyone please advice what should be done ?

Oh well, he should ask for the attoney's copy of I-797 and follow the procedure to apply for duplicate passport (usually requires a police report) in India. He should get the visa stamped on receiving the new passport.
