lost my job on H1B

Hi all
I was let go today...unfortuantely my h1b started only on nov 1, 2004...i graduated with masters program only on dec 2003...please let me know how many days i have before i go to india...how many days can i stay here ....have i lost my status...is there any consulting company that i can join...please help me guys !

You have to find a company who are willing transfer your H-1B visa. There are lot of consulting companies who can get you onboard and find you a project. In order to remain in the US, you have to be in some status (H1, F1 etc.). So, your first step will be applying for H-1b tranfer to remain in status. Did your company said they are going to withdraw your H-1B visa immediately? I don't think there is any fixed grace period. Staying in the US without any vaid status will create problems later on.
