I transferred my H1 from my previous employer to my current employer. My H1-B visa was approved but the approval receipt got lost in the mail about a month back. My company has already filed an I 824 petition for getting a duplicate copy of that document, but it turns out that the delay for I 824 to be proccessed is about 7 months. I have to make an urgent trip to India in the next 2 months.
I wanted to know more about my options in this case and more importantly if I can travel to India without my original H1B approval document. I have the H1 visa stamp from the previous employer on my passport. Additionaly, I have the copies for the H1 approval with the new employer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
